Using 6000 Series Tools ============================================================ 3.1 Bridge ------------------------------------------------------------ From the Start menu select " All Programs" followed by Eurotherm, then Bridge. When prompted for a Host name, enter the IP address of the instrument that is to be connected to the Bridge session. Bridge will fail if the network connection is lost due to the PC going into standby or hibernate, these power saving modes should be disabled. 3.2 C-Edit Configuration Tool ------------------------------------------------------------ From the Start menu select "All Programs" followed by Eurotherm / More Tools / C-Edit . If using the configuration editor for the first time it will be necessary to specify the instrument type prior to configuring the parameters. To do this select the 'Save/Restore' key followed by 'New'. Then from the drop down list select the desired instrument type. Alternatively if the software package is being used to edit a Configuration file select 'Restore' and browse the PC for the desired file. 4. Uninstalling 6000 Series Tools ============================================================ 4.1 Uninstalling 6000 Series Tools ------------------------------------------------------------ To Uninstall 6000 Series Tools, Open Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, select 6000 Series Tools, and press the Remove Button. 5. 6XXX Product Software Upgrade ============================================================ 5.1 Upgrading From Media Card ------------------------------------------------------------ Copy all files in the product software folder into a new directory on the Media card being used, then follow the instructions given in the user guide. 5.2 Upgrading From Bridge ----------------------------------------------------------- With a bridge connection to the product it is possible to perform an upgrade directly from your PC. With the Bridge connection active, log in, navigate to the upgrade Page and perform a local upgrade. You will then be prompted for the location of the upgrade file on your PC. The rest of the procedure is as per the Media card option. 5.3 Upgrading From Remote FTP server ----------------------------------------------------------- From the product it is possible to upgrade the product using files stored on a remote server This requires the server to be able to accept FTP connections and have a mapping to the directory containing the upgrade file, with the appropriate access permissions. With these criteria met it will be possible to upgrade the product following the instructions given in the user guide. 5.4 Important Note ------------------------------------------------------------ Some new features may not be enabled following an upgrade. Following power-up, check the config/options menu, for the presence of the autoconfigure button. If it is displayed this will need to be pressed to enable the features detailed on that page. Note that options are enabled via Key Codes, these must be obtained from the factory. 6. Supported platforms ====================== Windows NT4 (SP6), Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server, Windows 7, 8.1 & 10 7. Image File Sizes ============================================================ As of version 4.1, the maximum user screen image resolution supported on the instrument is 1024x768. This restriction does not apply to Bridge-only user screens.
