What is the SAFEST way to replace your Barber-Colman MODEL 560 or 570 CONTROLLER?
Step up to a NEW Barber-Colman MODEL 3504 CONTROLLER

Barber-Colman makes it easy for you to upgrade your system by replacing your aging model 560 or 570 controller. The new model 3504 easily replaces the 560 and 570 programmer. Check out the link below for a 560 to 3504 part number conversion program.
We understand what it takes to replace one controller with another. That’s why we supply you with the following tools and functionality.

WE KNOW YOUR 560 WE BUILT IT!

To upgrade to the new Barber-Colman controller takes just 3 easy steps – just follow the instructions below and you are on your way.

1) Ready –
Locate the existing Barber-Colman 560 or 570 controller. The exact part number is on the side of the instrument case and another copy of the part number is on the top lip of the controller if you have already removed it from the case. Inspect the rear terminal wiring of the Barber-Colman 560. It probably has:

  • 3 incoming power wires
  • 2 thermocouple wires
  • output wires that go to a motorized valve OR to a OR to a heat contactor
  • maybe output wires that go to an alarm light
  • maybe a few extra wires

2) Set-
You can mount the 3504 controller in a new hole, make a cover plate that converts the larger 6 inch by 6 inch cut out to the newer 1/4 DIN cutout. E-Mail us about availability of a converter plate. Then, if you follow our easy to use wiring diagrams, reconnect your existing wires and you have a permanent installation.

We can also supply an adapter housing so the new 3504 slides right into the existing housing so you don’t need to touch any wires. This is great for rapid replacements of one or two instruments

If you are using the 560 digital interface, we can supply the traditional 560 or 570 protocol. Just reconnect the wires to the new 3504, set the address and baud rate and watch the communications take off. The 3504 can have a plug-in board installed (either now or later) that permits it to communicate using Modbus RTU. A factory developed Modbus RTU OPC server is available for OPC interfaces to visualization software.

3) GO-
